So I’ve decided that this morning I am going to start playing around with some logo ideas that are floating in my head. Coming up with ideas, or drawing with regards to logos can be extremely difficult at times. I have been lucky enough to have some past experience in this as I have had a few business ideas prior to this, and have done designing for them. I have also been very lucky to of had some friends who do signage, or vehicle decals, who have given me some pointers.
First: Start with a name.
If you don’t have a name for your company, creating a logo will be a little more difficult, as you name and logo should co and side with one another. You wouldn’t want please to see your logo and be confused about what your name is, or how they go together. ect. “Why have a plummer picture, for a farm name?” it just doesn’t make sense right??? Right.
Second: Brainstorm ideas.
Put some ideas, drawings, or even pictures together, that spark a thought for your logo, or company plan. Have friends, or partners join you in the thought process. However, let me remind you, if you haven’t spoken to anyone about your plan or idea yet, maybe keep going and do your due diligence alone. Not everyone will be as happy or excited about your ideas or plans as you are, but you need to remain calm, positive, and moving forward. Don’t let others negative thoughts, or questions bring you down. You’ve already thought through most things already, so keep going!!!
Third: Sit on it!!!
Yes, I literally mean sit on it. Why? Because what you think, like, or maybe even love today, might not be what you see, like, or want next week, or even better a month from now. Remember, you personally will not always be the face or first thing people see when getting a first glance at your company/idea. It will be your logo. So make sure it’s something you feel is the one thing, you do carefully, and over time.
Now, that I’ve given you my thoughts, and you’re well on your own way to thinking about things. Remember, no matter if your naming a school, business, farm, or street, your logo/name, are very important.
